SAY MORE PLEASE
Okay, I’m going to tell you what I’m feeling about this so-called hushed situation. If you are a woman, you are going to go through this natural transition.
I’m going to admit that this is some scary stuff. I’ve decided to journal my experiences as I go through these motions. I’m doing so for the mere understanding of what I’m feeling so that I don’t feel as though I’m going crazy.
What are you experiencing and when did you realize that your body was going through the changes? Well, I can think back to when I was in my mid 40’s and asking my doctor questions such as “why am I having periods of noticeable hot sweats while only in my mid-forties?” There is a possibility that I may have been going through perimenopause back then. Let’s just get this stuff over with already!
At the present age of 49, I feel a change in my whole body. I am more emotional than usual. God knows I can do without the extra emotions lol. Some of these emotions are highs and some are lows. There are times when I’m full of energy and then there are those times when I am extremely tired for no apparent reason. My sleeping is off and I have awakened to my nightclothes being wet. I wake up like... “oh yeah, it’s official,” or is it?
It sure did hit me hard and fast. I knew it was approaching because of my age and because I had been feeling it slowly sneaking up on me for some years now. Then the other day, I felt a sudden change. I found myself asking myself, “ what are you crying for today Miss? ” My sense of smell is so strong. I can smell everything. However, I don’t know if that has anything to do with menopause. I just know that I feel off-balanced.
I know my doctor thinks I’m crazy, but I will not be afraid to ask her anything. I mean...she’s a woman.
I have questions such as; How long is this going to last? Does each woman go through the same things? What else should I expect? Will there be a ray of rainbows and vibrant lavender and sunflowers waiting to greet me when this is over? Because this is no joke.
I’ve been discussing with my physician what I’m going through and asking questions about what to expect. Because I am not a traditional medicine type of girl, I plan on researching as much as I can and using natural remedies to conquer the inevitable if need be.
This is a topic, in my opinion, that has not been discussed loud enough for me. Maybe I didn’t notice it being discussed more because it wasn’t affecting me personally just yet. Of course, as a woman, I’ve always heard of menopause and the changes women go through, but I’ve never exactly heard women talk about it openly except for the hot flashes. Ladies, what are some other obvious telltale signs that are clear indications of you entering into a different stage of womanhood? I wanna know lol.
I suppose some women can have mild to severe to zero effects of menopause. I understand and embrace the science and physics of this process. I know that it’s a part of life and a part of being a woman. As I go through this new phase in my life, I’m going to share it with whoever is interested in listening. Please be understanding to women because we bear plenty, but all of that makes us who we are, which is a strong source.

Hey Sis!!
I’m there with you. It’s an interesting change for sure. I’m having the night sweats and then I’m freezing after I kick all the covers off 😂🔥. I have to sleep with a fan on or windows open, I ALWAYS need fresh or circulating air. I’m losing out on sleep because being HOT 🥵 messes with your 💤 ‘s. I feel bad for my guy because he has to deal with sleeping with me while I’m experiencing hot and cold changes all night long!!! Mother Nature is a beast!! But hey, We Are Women! We are strong enough to carry and deliver babies, now we will conquer this new challenge.
