Iyamah's Self-Wellness Friday
I want to give thanks for all of my blessings, and I want to give thanks for all my lessons. The good and the wrong tasks are both needed for proper balance in my life. Every day is not a good one, as each day is not a bad one. But I have to appreciate both days equally.
Sometimes when I’m not feeling too good about certain things in my life, I remind myself that others have it worse than me. Or I remind myself of how good that I have it. It’s a blessing to be alive.
I find ways to make myself feel good, and one of those ways is to pick up the phone and call someone that I haven’t spoken to in a while. That person is someone who I know will appreciate my call. I want to brighten someone’s day, As calling them is twofold for me because it will also bring light to my life.
Do you have a person or person’s in your life that you don’t talk to often that you can make time for to say, “Hello, how have you been? Do you realize that a small gesture makes enormous impacts? You can quickly turn your dark or not-so-good days into light in just a blink of the eye by looking out for someone else.
It simply cannot be about “you” all the time, and you have to allow life to be about others more often. Of course, never abuse yourself by overlooking you, by letting someone use you. I hope you all are getting what I’m saying. We are all in this matrix together, and we have to take care of one another.
I feel that back in the day, and I may be wrong, but I think that we were more compassionate of one another. I’m not saying that there aren’t thousands of people out there who are not merciful to one another, but it seems like we are getting away from being there for others. We have the power inside of us to make anything happen as far as humanity stuff, and I’m just confused as to why it isn’t happening more.
“I am my brother’s keeper.” What’s going on with that saying and the actions that follow after that? All I’m saying is on this Friday, on this very day, I think that we all should start looking out for one another better than we do. And I mean that in a one-on-one situation, and I mean that in a neighbor-to-neighbor case, and I mean this on a universal matter.
We are all on this blissful planet together. It’s a gift to us that we are here together at this very moment. I wish for us to be more loving with one another, and I want us to make the world better by being better to each other. It may sound corny for some people, but I don’t care. We are all that we have.
I give thanks to the people who have come across my path and have blessed me with their presence. I have realized that I am also a blessing to someone’s life. This Friday’s self-awareness is about being aware of how we treat and look out for other people with a pure heart. It makes me feel good when I’m good to others—just a little food for thought. Have a good and safe weekend.
